Roofing
services in the roofing industry as a whole are broad in nature.
There are many types of roof systems, and many material options
for each system. The industry is segmented into residential
and commercial parts, with many companies occupying both.
BestWest Roofing however, is mainly focused on the residential
roof markets. Our residential roofing services can be further
divided into the following categories.
Roof Renovations
The roof replacement market, otherwise known
as the re-roof market has been our most prominent source of
revenue to date. Normal scopes of work include removing and
disposing of an existing roof, and then installing a brand
new system in its place. Because of all the labour involved
in removing, prepping, and installing, the cost of this service
in relatively high, as are the profits.
New Construction
We are currently positioning ourselves to
attract a relatively significant share of the residential
new construction market as we plan to aim some of our marketing
materials toward high-end home builders and renovators. This
market has its pro and cons. An advantage of having new construction
projects to work on is that progress does not rely on good
weather. Rain or shine, the work can continue without having
to worry about the water damage associated with roof renovations
and bad weather. One disadvantage, however, is that profit
margins are a little lower than other markets.
Repairs and Troubleshooting
By far the most profitable revenues are associated
with our repair services. Materials are a mere fraction of
the cost of sale. Troubleshooting a leaking roof requires
a high level of know-how and a great deal of patience.
Additional Services
The largest portion of our revenue is generated
within the roof renovation market. This specific market has
driven our company to offer a variety of other services to
our clients. For example we often find ourselves replacing
fascia boards, soffits, and gutter systems, while also making
repairs to siding, chimneys and many other items related to
a home’s exterior.
